Staff Directory

The main requirement of ND Champions Club staff members is to love UND Athletics. We work hard for our members and, most importantly, for UND’s student-athletes.
Mike MannausauMike Mannausau, '99, '03
Executive Director

Mike knows the importance of fan support. A standout student-athlete for UND’s football program in 1994-98, he benefitted directly from the support of UND fans. His love for UND Athletics parlayed him into a successful football coaching career as coordinator and assistant head coach of his alma mater’s program. And, the affinity for UND Athletics didn’t stop at the professional level. He married standout UND basketball star, Tiffany (Pudenz) Mannausau, ’99, and are together raising the next crop of UND stars in their children, Mya (7) and Max (6). Mike took the helm of the ND Champions Club in 2012 and has grown its membership and annual income for student-athlete scholarships each year respectively. "It's been an honor to serve my alma mater in so many diverse capacities. I can't think of anything more exciting than helping other student-athletes realize their academic dreams by becoming student-athletes at UND."

Val SussexVal Sussex, '08, '11
Associate Director of Champions Club

Val joined the Champions Club in 2014 after a seven-year relationship with UND women’s basketball, as a student athlete, administrator, and coach. She played for UND from 2004-05 to 2007-08, helping lead UND to a NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance as a junior and serving as a team captain as a senior. Val returned to UND Athletics in September 2011 as director of women’s basketball operations and was elevated to assistant coach before the 2013-14 season. “I am honored and blessed for the opportunity to work for the Champions Club,” said Sussex. “I am very grateful for all that UND Athletics has offered me and I am excited to continue to work for UND in a more global capacity.” Val may have a long history with the women’s basketball program, but she takes in every UND athletics program she can with her husband, Jackson. When not recruiting new Champions Club members and planning events for current members, you can find Val and her family (including their dog, Cosmo) at Big Stone Lake.
